WHO IS THE PARTY OF THE RICH AGAIN? The Democrats have always claimed to be the party of the little guy and labeled the Republicans as favoring the richest of the rich. They've done it for years and quite successfully as well. In this economic downturn, the banking industry has taken a hit, especially anyone on Wall Street. The worst thing anyone could be called right now is a hedge fund manager. Due to the crisis of 2008 stemming from governmental intrusion and mismanagement and some shenanigans on Wall Street. It's time we all woke and saw the truth of the matter. Democrats aren't for anything except their own power, and they'll take and give money to whomever helps them get and keep power. Take this excerpt from "The Hill" Website for instance: The top 10 highest-paid hedge fund managers in 2009 have dished out campaign contributions almost only to Democrats. Over their lifetimes, those managers have given almost $33 million in campaign contributions to Democrats, according to research by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and that is based on data maintained by the nonpartisan CQMoneyline.
The same managers gave roughly $600,000 to Republicans, according to the research. The contributions went 98 percent to Democrats and two percent to Republicans. Don't buy the rich versus poor garbage any more! The Republicans are mainly conservative and conservatism at its core promotes opportunity for everyone. Democrats and today's ultra liberals seek government control and only to benefit those who keep them in power.

VOTE UNION; GET FIRED  
Due to budget cuts Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley deemed necessary and union hard liners, 431 workers were laid off July 15. Many in the labor movement will lament this, but those of us who want to clean up municipal government in possibly the dirtiest city in the United States should celebrate this event. Some will wonder why the Daley couldn't compromise with the Teamsters and AFSCME leadership while others will ask those two unions why the deal that was accepted by 25 other unions that represent city workers wasn't good enough for their membership. Rather than cutting overtime and regular hours and some salary as well, these two unions supposedly dedicated to representing their members and keeping their jobs safe got their people fired. Is this what union members pay dues for? Everyone is cutting hours and jobs and wages with the tough economic times. What's so special about people from these two unions? The city has too many people on the payroll, union or otherwise. City jobs are virtually guaranteed votes, and that's how this city has been run for the longest time. Union workers always cost more but not because they're necessarily worth more. The clout their leadership throws around inflates the true value of their work. Add in the wastefulness and inefficiency that comes from working for the government and you get lots of money going straight down the toilet. We can no longer support governments who use jobs to get votes alongside a union that will lose jobs for the sake of higher wages. In this economy, I'd rather have a wage cut than a number at the unemployment office. This just shows that those in government don't represent the tax payers properly just the same as most unions don't give their dues-paying members the representation that they think they're getting. From an article on chicagotribune.com "The 141 Teamsters workers drive trucks in eight city departments, primarily Streets and Sanitation, Water Management and Aviation. Of the 290 ASFCME workers on the chopping block, 120 work in city libraries stocking books, and the rest work in lower-level administrative jobs across 28 departments, according to City Hall." P.S. I won't mention the Teamsters, mostly because I'm not in a hurry to meet Jimmy Hoffa. The 120 AFSCME workers laid off from the library stocking books is pretty funny. That job is called a "page." I used to be a page at the Franklin Park Public Library, but I wasn't represented by a union. Now, our shelves weren't tall enough for me to need to know how to operate one of those sliding ladder deals. I'm not sure if most of the Chicago libraries have that, but filing books seems like a task that would hardly require union representation. I mean, what are your demands? Dewey Decimal System vs the Library of Congress Number? Health benefits to cover paper cuts? Shushing privileges? I mean, this is insane and shows why these people are out of work. They were barely working in the first place, so this may be the best thing Daley has ever done.
ARE ALL COUNTRIES AND CULTURES TRULY EQUAL? President Obama uttered these words during his big speech in Cairo, Egypt back on June 4: "And this is a difficult responsibility to embrace. For human history has often been a record of nations and tribes-and, yes, religions- subjugating one another in pursuit of their own interests. Yet in this new age, such attitudes are self-defeating. Given our interdependence, any world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will inevitably fail. So whatever we think of the past, we must not be prisoners to it. Our problems must be dealt with through partnership; our progress must be shared." So no nation should be elevated over another? Ever? You sure about that, Prez? I can agree that any country can't be lifted over another just by saying they're better. BUT, I would say actions throughout history could make a good case for elevating certain countries like, say, um, THE USA! And no, it's not true just because I said so or somebody else told me so. We can look through history and find the countless times that our great nation has saved the downtrodden of the world sacrificing our own people for the the freedom of others. I suggest that we don't even need to look there. Let's just look at a pair of situations going on in the world right now and compare how they would be perceived and dealt with here in the United States. | Example 1: People illegally crossing the border | Example 2: People protesting the government | USA: They're given jobs, healthcare, and free school for their kids -OR- NORTH KOREA: They're arrested and sentenced to 12 years hard labor | USA: They're exercising their 1st Amendment rights and considered to be doing their patriotic duty. -OR- IRAN: THEY'RE SHOT! |

Quote from Sonia Sotomayor 2001 speech with similar words spoken in 1994, '99, 2002, & '04: "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." Some have commented that had a white man said something similar to Ms. Sotomayor, then he would be in big trouble, especially if he was a Republican. I think we should take this a step futher. If I was on the Senate Judiciary Committee, my first question to the Supreme Court nominee would be, "Would you expect a Latina woman to, more often than not, reach a better conclusion than a black person? How about a Native American? Asian? You're Puerto Rican, so would a Puerto Rican make a better decision than a Mexican? Guatemalan? You're a Latina woman, so would a Latina woman come to a better conclusion than a Latin male?" I could go on-and-on with examples that show how stupid Ms. Sotomayor's statements are. I do believe that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was correct in saying he went too far in calling her an outright racist based on these comments, but these comments are the epitomy of racism. Any statement that concludes that something nobody can control like racial make-up and ethnicity means that person can do something better than someone of a different background is pure racism. There are no two ways about it.
OBAMA GETS SOME BLING FROM THE KING 
President Barack Obama (Photo AP) received the a gift of a gold necklace called the King Abdul Aziz Order of Merit, the country's highest honor, from Saudi King Abdullah at the start of their bilateral meeting at the King's Farm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I think it's a great thing for our country. Obama should take that necklace and mail it into "Cash 4 Gold" and use the money to pay down the massive debt he's racking up for all of us. It would be the best decision he's made so far.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN A TERRORIST Obama administration seeks to give "Miranda Rights" to enemy combatants and Gitmo detainees. This is pure insanity. U.S. Constitutional Rights like "Miranda" do NOT extend to foreign nationals captured on the battlefield overseas and held on foreign soil. The Geneva Convention does not force us to give them these protections either. We don't have to release anyone until the conflict is over. My grandfather (fighting in the Italian army) was held prisoner by the English until World War II was over. On top of this, the Geneva Convention doesn't even apply to these people because they belong to no nation's army. They're terrorists who seek to kill and cause havoc around the world for their own political gain and blood lust. Certain countries help them but they represent no nation. They wear no uniform. In many cases, they disguise themselves as civilians and offer themselves to Allah by blowing themselves up for the sole purpose of causing civilian casualties that they can blame on our presence through the complicit Arab and Left-Wing American media in their propaganda campain. I'll give them "Carmen Miranda" rights where they're allowed to wear fruit on their heads. Feel safer now?
2009 OBAMA APOLOGY TOUR HEADS TO MID EAST 
After successful runs in Europe and Latin America, President Obama takes his Off-his-rocker (and Broadway) show to the Middle East starting in Saudi Arabia followed by his big speech in Egypt. What will he apologize for this time? Will he say we're arrogant or that we should stop dictating to other countries again? Will he call Iranian President Ahmadinejad to shoot the breeze? Maybe he'll send him a message via his cool ass Blackberry. He could exchange nuclear secrets for one of those neat Members Only jackets that the Iranian leader loves to wear. Maybe he'll even crap on Israel, too. Whatever Obama does, I'm sure it will be an exploding success.
SPEAKER OF THE NUT HOUSE CALLS CIA LIARS
After watching this performance, how can anyone believe her? She can't even get her FIFTH story straight even when reading it the second time around in a span of just a few minutes. This woman has stretched the truth further than her plastic surgeon has stretched her over-manipulated face. Even fellow Democrat and current CIA Director Leon Panetta isn't too happy with Mrs. Pelosi's actions and comments. The CIA is good at keeping records and even better about keeping them secret until you piss them off. If she keeps it up, they'll leak any damning evidence they can find against her or make her go away and pay a visit to Jimmy Hoffa for a permanent summer vacation. Please, Nancy, just do us a favor and can it!
PRESIDENT OPROMPTER STRIKES AGAIN Conservative talker Sean Hannity has suggested that the President has teleprompters even when he goes to sleep. I gather that is so he will know what to dream about and what to say to his wife in the morning. Does the dog require a teleprompter to tell the Obamas when he needs to go out and when he's hungry or wants to play? This isn't because he's the first president or politician to use teleprompters, but for him to be so lost without it makes him look like a fool and a fraud. Does he not have a hard copy in front of him on the podium? Hasn't he practiced this speech before, and didn't he have at least a small hand in crafting it or does he think he's so smooth that he can just read it off the prompter as if it's all his own words and expect us to not figure it out? If Obama is this unprepared for a speech, how prepared will he be going into those talks he wants to have with our wonderful friends in Iran, North Korea, and Cuba? Kinda scary to think of, don't you agree?

President Obama wants to show the Europeans how open he is to talking with them and including their concerns in his decisions. He even wants to learn their languages, and since he is the president, he's working with Rosetta Stone on a new curriculum so he can become fluent in Austrian. It even features his seal of approval. OBAMA'S EUROPEAN VACATION 
President Obama has landed in London for the G20 Summit in hopes of presenting an improved image of the U.S. to the rest of the world while also solving the economic crisis that is currently spanning the globe. He feels he has a lot of ground to cover in repairing relations with other countries after how his predecessor handled international affairs. He can get off to a good start by making up for giving 25 DVD's to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown that included copies of ET, Star Wars, and the Wizard of Oz, which didn't even work because they were the wrong regional format. This time he should present Mr. Brown with a free lifetime membership to NETFLIX. Now that's change I can believe in. NO LATE FEES!
GOVERNMENT TAKE OVER? 
President Obama said, "We have no desire to run General Motors," just hours after firing CEO Rick Wagoner (pictured above). If you fire the guy that was said to be in charge, doesn't it sound like you're running the company? Am I the only one who sees the contradiction here? Obama also guaranteed GM and Chrysler customers that the government will back the car warranties no matter what the future holds for the two struggling auto companies. So, would it be disrespectful to call Obama Mr. Goodwrench instead of Mr. President from now on? I doubt Obama can even refill his windshield washer fluid let alone run a car manufacturing company. This is going to get uglier as time goes on if we don't stand up to government intrusion into every sector of public and private life.
IRAQ WITHDRAWAL DATE: 8/31/2010 IRAN INVASION OF IRAQ DATE: 9/1/2010 President Barry, having a withdrawal goal date isn't bad in and of itself, but do you need to BROADCAST IT TO THE ENEMY? That bad decision wasn't good enough for nutballs like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who aren't happy with the fact that Obama's plan leaves about 50,000 troops in Iraq to continue the training of the Iraqi military. If Obama has a downfall, I'm not sure if it will come from the Republicans adhering to their principles and winning the favor of the people or the supremely far left cannibalizing the President for the few decisions he makes that aren't leftist enough for them. It sure will make for some interesting theater over the next 4 years.

It's widely recognized that the main influence on the bill came from President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Then after the contentious arguments and vote in the House, three "Republicans" in the Senate, Pennsylvania's Arlen Specter and Maine's Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins reached a compromise with Democrats to ensure that the bill would get 60 votes to ensure passage. What people don't realize is that there are three more prominent Americans who had a hand, or hoof, in this monstrosity of a spending bill.
